Setting up mail tut the bat. Setting up mail on iPhone and iPad

The program "Mail" (or "Mail") is a standard application of the iOS system and does not require additional installation from App Store... However, to work with the mail client, you must first carry out the "Mail" setup procedure. This article will cover all the possible stages of setting up a mail client using the example of the native Mail application.

Default Mail setting on iPhone / iPad

To configure the mail client go to "Settings" -> "Mail, addresses, calendars". Here the user is presented with a choice of services such as Google, Yahoo, iCloud, Outlook and so on. To connect a service account that is not included in the general list, you need to tap on the "Other" button, however, in this case, the procedure for connecting an account may differ from the standard one.

Having chosen a service in which you already have an account, you need to tap on its logo, and then indicate the basic data of your account: name, e-mail, password. After checking the information, if there are no errors, the Mail application will be ready to work. But do not rush to leave the section "Mail, Addresses, Calendars". Here you can also customize some design styles, notifications, signature and other little things.

By the way, if necessary, it is possible to add several accounts of various mail services at once.

Adding an account for Tut.by, Rambler, Yandex, etc. to the Mail application on iPhone / iPad

You can add a Tut.by or Rambler account to the standard iOS mail client "Mail" only by binding the server address. To do this, in the service selection window, click the "Other" item. In the menu that appears, enter your name, mail and password.

  • Mail.ru - pop.mail.ru
  • Yandex - pop.yandex.ru
  • Rambler - pop.rambler.ru
  • Tut.by - pop.gmail.com
In the next line, enter your email and password from the mailbox. In the "Outgoing mail server" section, you must enter the following data:
  • Mail.ru - smtp.mail.ru:25
  • Yandex -smtp.yandex.ru
  • Rambler - smtp.rambler.ru
  • Tut.by - smtp.gmail.com
After that, despite the "optional" mark, you should enter in the same section, below the specified server, your mail and password from it, otherwise the third-party service will simply not receive and send emails. Click on next and, in the dialog box that appears, select "Save".

If you encounter the error “The server has rejected the recipient because. it does not allow relaying "or" Relay error "in the mail client, please check the correct information.

As the final stage, in the last setting menu that appears, we indicate those sections that we want to synchronize with the mail service (contacts, calendars, etc.), save all the settings made and check the mail operation. If an error occurs in the mail service, try to repeat the whole procedure again. Perhaps you just missed something at one of the stages.

Also check that in the settings of your mail account, in the section "outgoing mail", in the item "primary server" SSL is activated. If this does not help and mail continues to not work on your iPhone or iPad, then, in the same section, change the numerical value of the server port to 465 or 25.

Google 2-Step Verification: Set up mail on iPhone or iPad

Often, Gmail users turn on 2-Step Verification to improve the security of their Google account. From the moment it was turned on, the active mail account on the iPhone and iPad stops working, giving an error "The username or password you entered is incorrect"... At the same time, re-entering the password or checking the username (just in case) is of no use.

In this case, you need to do the following:

Step 1. Go to your Google account through the browser and go to the "Security" section.

Step 2. We are looking for the line "Two-step authentication" and go to "Settings".

Step 3. You will be prompted to enter the password for your Google account, after which you will be taken to the settings for this function. We need a second tab "Application Passwords". Click on the "Manage Application Passwords" button and enter the password again.

Step 4. We will see a list of all applications that have access to your Google account and mail, including. Here you can give access to the Mail application on your iPhone and iPad. To do this, by clicking on the "Applications" menu, select "Mail", and on the right, by clicking on the "Device" menu, select the iPhone or iPad and click the "Create" button.

Step 5. After all the manipulations, an instruction will immediately open containing a new password for setting up an account on your device.

Following the instructions, go to "Settings" -> "Mail, addresses, calendars", select your Gmail account from the list and change the password to the one specified in the instructions. Ready!

Mail clients from the App Store

Despite the presence of a quite high-quality regular one for iOS, good alternative options can be: Mailbox, myMail, Boxer (a lite version is available) and standard clients from Google, Yandex, Yahoo, and so on. Each of the apps has a unique design and interesting features that will make working with emails much easier and more convenient. The choice is yours.

Dmitry Smirnov,

For several weeks gradual transfer of the contents of mailboxes and all correspondence of TUT.BY users to the Yandex.Mail service. Recall that it was caused by the closure by Google of all services of its Email located outside the gmail.com domain on the service Google Apps Partner Edition.

We already have answers to the most frequently asked questions from users (we recommend that you read them again), however, as the transfer progresses, new points arise that require additional clarification.

Deleting cookies

If, when authorizing on the http://mail.tut.by page, a form on Yandex opens with a prompt to enter your username and password again, we recommend that you close the page, delete cookies (via browser settings) and try again to open the mailbox from the http page: //mail.tut.by. Below we provide links on how to do this in the most popular browsers:
  • Deleting cookies in the browser Google chrome, Chromium and browsers based on it (Yandex Browser, Amigo, etc.) - link;
  • Deleting cookies in Mozilla Firefox - link;
  • Deleting cookies in Internet Explorer- link ;
  • Deleting cookies in Opera - link.
In addition, if you have previously used the same browser to log into your mail, you can try to log into your mailbox using a different one that does not store old cookies.

Updating email client and mobile device settings

If you have previously used a mail collector or configured authorization on a mobile device, then after transferring the mailbox you need to change the settings:
  • mobile devices (In the "Username" field, please enter the mailbox address in the format [email protected]).

If you did not manage to save your Google account data before transferring

Those who, after transferring the mailbox, need temporary access to the old Google account to save files from Google Drive, contacts, etc., you need to:
  1. Log in from http://mail.tut.by to an account of the form USER_NAME.moved with the same password;
  2. Use the instructions from Google for data transfer (link);
  3. The easiest way to save contacts is through export, and upload to Yandex through import. The easiest way to save data from Google Drive is using the Google Takeout service.
If these methods did not help you and you did not find the answer to your question in, then we recommend that you send detailed description problems on [email protected] (if the current mailbox does not open, you can create / use a backup mail). Specialists will definitely help you. What opportunities are provided when registering a mailbox?

Free mailboxes for TUT.BY users are hosted on the Yandex.Mail platform. The volume of the mailbox is not limited.

Email users are provided with:

  • a short mailbox with an address in the format [email protected];
  • access through mail clients using the common protocols IMAP4 / POP3 / SMTP;
  • SSL / TLS encryption support;
  • access via mobile devices;
  • convenient web interface that can completely replace the mail program;
  • filtration of unwanted mail (spam) and viruses using innovative technologies;
  • support for documents and spreadsheets with the ability to import and export from / to the software of the Microsoft Office family (Word, Excel);
  • contact list, calendar, the ability to store files on Yandex.Disk
  • and much more…

There are three ways to restore: by means of a backup address, SMS or by answering a secret question.

  • If you have access to the email address that you specified as a backup for your account on TUT.BY, then to get a link to it for entering a new password, you just need to enter your login (username TUT.BY) on the page, and then specify a backup address.
  • To receive the code for changing the password in the form of SMS, you need to enter your login (username TUT.BY) on the page, click on the "SMS" button and enter the full phone number.
  • You can also enter a new password after answering the security question directly on the page.

Please note that it is impossible to change the password using Yandex tools: all operations with passwords are performed only on TUT.BY.

If you have chosen more than one recovery method, then any of these methods can be removed. After deleting the answer to the security question, this recovery method becomes unavailable in the future, while the backup address and phone number after deletion can be reassigned to the account. Each postal address can be used as a backup for only one account on TUT.BY. Likewise: each phone number can be linked to only one account.

Service technical support the portal also does not develop software and never sends programs to users. Under no circumstances run files attached to such letters and do not follow links (especially if the files are archived) - these are dangerous viruses.

If you received such a suspicious letter from any of the addresses in the format [email protected], please report this to [email protected] so that we can block the sender's account.

The only difference: TUT.BY users in the " Username"indicate not just a login, but full mailbox address, in the format [email protected].

If all the settings are specified, and the mail program does not accept or does not send letters, you can contact for help at [email protected]- Attach screenshots of settings and a window with an error message to the letter.

The only difference: in the "Username" field, you will need to enter the mailbox address in the format [email protected]. We recommend choosing IMAP of the two possible incoming mail protocols.

Moreover, on mobile devices you can also work with mail through the web interface (login from the page https://mail.tut.by).

Unfortunately, the ability to install avatars on Yandex.Mail for TUT.BY users is not provided. Sometimes, user photos are added to the lines with sent letters, selected according to the results of automatic data processing social networks... If you find an error (that is, the sender does not display your avatar), you can contact Yandex support via the feedback form on the page https://yandex.ru/support/mail-new/web/preferences/about- sender-form.html # about-sender-form.

In 2015, the popular Belarusian portal TYT.BY switched to using the Yandex mail service, as a result of which the owners of iOS devices experienced some discomfort, as they had to re-configure the mail client.

Unfortunately, setup does not take place automatically, as is the case with Gmail. The problem is aggravated by the fact that during setup, you will need to manually enter the addresses of the POP and SMPT servers, as well as go through the registration procedure on the site itself. Moreover, this nuisance affects all users of the resource - both existing and new. In the instructions below, we will describe in detail the procedure for setting up TUT.BY mail on iPhone and iPad.

Incoming mail (POP3):
Server name: pop.yandex.ru;
Use SSL: Yes;
Port: 995.

Outgoing mail (SMTP):
Server name: smtp.yandex.ru;
Use SSL: Yes;
Port: 465.

This completes the setup of TUT.BY mail on iPhone and iPad.

In connection with the upcoming closure by Google of all its e-mail services located outside the gmail.com domain on the Google Apps Partner Edition service, TUT.BY agreed with Yandex to gradually transfer the contents of mailboxes and all correspondence of TUT.BY users to the Yandex service. Mail. More than 2 million accounts will be migrated in total.

Part of the Google email warning about the imminent closure of the service

Dear partners,

Re: Termination notice google support Apps Partner Edition

Thank you for your collaboration and using the partner version of Google Apps.
As part of Google's integration plans, we have decided to end support for the partner version of this product.

What will happen?

No later than April 15, 2015, the @ tut.by mailbox will change its design, become very similar to Yandex.Mail, but will continue to perform its previous functions with the same archive and old folders.

Your email address will also remain the same -<…>@ tut.by, you don't need to notify anyone. Email robots will automatically transfer your correspondence and folders to the new service without being noticed.

Considering the fact that Beltelecom has a separate dedicated channel for Yandex, the connection to the mailbox will become faster and more reliable.

What do you need to be prepared for?

You do not need to take any action if you:

  • Do not use email programs (MS Outlook, The BAT !, Android Mail, iPhone, Microsoft Outlook Mobile, etc.) to view TUT.BY mail;
  • Didn't bind the TUT.BY address in the Android smartphone (tablet) to the Google account (section "Settings - Account Google "-<…>@ tut.by);
  • Did not use Google services using a Google account linked to TUT.BY mail (Calendar, Contacts, Google Drive, Google Play Store, etc.)

In all other cases, you need to prepare for the transition:

  • Information for users of mail programs (MS Outlook, The BAT !, Android Mail, iPhone, Microsoft Outlook Mobile, etc.) is located.
  • Information for those who indicated their TUT.BY box in the account of their smartphone or tablet on Android -. Important! Do not confuse accounting google entry for Android devices with a Gmail email account: there is no need to change anything if the address already ends in gmail.com in the smartphone / tablet settings (section "Settings - Google Account"). You need to change the registration only if it ends with @ tut.by.
  • Information for users of Google Apps, in particular Calendar, Drive, etc., is located.
All purchases on Google Play made under the @ tut.by account on this device will be saved. Do not delete your @ tut.by mailbox in order to restore your purchases later on another device if necessary. Detailed instructions Google will provide shortly.

Please note that it is necessary to resolve all issues with changing settings and transferring data (Contacts, Tasks, Calendar, etc.) within the next 10 calendar days.
