Japanese TV brands. TV production in russia

Today I would like to finally close this issue by providing a rating of the best TV manufacturers in 2017. All of the companies listed below are distinguished not only by good build quality, but also by a wide range of models, both budget and expensive!

Undoubtedly, the manufacturer Samsung is considered the best TV company. Since 2010, a Korean industrial concern has opened the production of its digital equipment in Russia, thanks to which it is now possible to buy a multifunctional, thin TV for little money. Samsung TV equipment is considered the most popular among all segments of the population. Their best 32-inch model is considered a device with an LCD display and LED backlighting - Samsung UE32K5500AU, which can be bought in 2017 for 24 thousand rubles.

Among the advantages of the manufacturer, one should also highlight the presence of a large number of service centers in cities, as well as a convenient Smart TV interface. The disadvantage is that the colors on some displays are too bright, but this problem has already been practically eliminated.

Sony

The second position in our rating is taken by a no less popular manufacturer of household appliances - Sony. The main distinctive advantages of the TVs of this Japanese brand are exquisite design, good build quality (as they are assembled in Slovakia) and versatility of almost all modern models.

Among the shortcomings, we should note the slightly increased cost of the equipment, relative to the leader of our rating - Samsung. This is due to the fact that the assembly is Slovak or Asia Minor. In general, if you do not trust a domestic manufacturer, it is better to overpay a little and choose a Sony TV, which ranks second in our rating.

Lg

Closing our TOP 3 is another Korean firm of household appliances, which also got into. The LG brand is famous for the fact that all products are optimal in terms of price and quality. Those. the price segment is in the middle between elite and budget brands. A definite advantage of LG TVs is the best 3D and direct-LED backlighting.

Philips

Moving towards the end of the rating, another good brand of TVs should be highlighted - Philips. The hallmark of this brand's television equipment is the Ambilight LED backlight, which you can see in the photo example below.

In addition, the manufacturer Philips was included in our 2017 ranking due to the fact that the range of TVs has a wide range of functions at a relatively low price. The only thing that spoils the opinion about this brand, judging by the reviews on the thematic forums, the menu on the screen of the "Philips" slows down a little. But, again, negative reviews about Philips can be found in a small proportion.

Panasonic

We left the last step in the TOP 5 for the popular brand of digital technology - the Japanese company Panasonic. As in the situation with Philips, Panasonic TVs belong to the category of fairly reliable at a not so high price. Good picture quality and modern design leave only a positive impression of the brand.

In this guide, we take a look at the largest and best known TV manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, Philips, Panasonic and Sony, along with brands such as Toshiba and Sharp.

We'll also rate Loewe and Bang & Olufsen premium players and cheap products.

Samsung: Should You Buy?

As the largest and most popular TV brand in Russia and perhaps the world, Samsung offers a wide range of LED LCD TVs with screens ranging from 19 "to 105" (267 centimeters diagonal). Although Samsung has released several plasma TVs, the manufacturer has announced that it will soon be ending production of these products.

Together with HD TVs, Samsung also produces 4K or Ultra-HD models. The company has advanced technologies in the field of Smart TV and has one of the most powerful and easy-to-use platforms.

Samsung TVs proved to be excellent in our laboratory conditions, many models received the mark recommended by Technocontrol, including inexpensive models costing up to 30,000 rubles. Samsung often offers excellent picture quality and a wide variety of different features, not all of which always work flawlessly.

Panasonic: Prior to 2013, Panasonic was criticized for its design and product quality oversights, but since then the Japanese manufacturer has shown a positive dynamic.

While Panasonic's Smart TV functionality isn't one of the best TV brands right now, it's getting better. We believe Panasonic has the potential to create outstanding TVs, but the challenges and risks that stand in the way should not be underestimated.

Premium TV Brands

Whether you are looking for stylish designs, unusual functionality, or just want to show off to your friends, then premium TV brands such as Bang & Olufsen and Loewe may be for you. However, keep in mind that these TVs are very expensive and the quality does not always match their high price.

Bang & Olufsen: Bang & Olufsen (B&O) has a reputation for attractive and stylish designs using premium materials. Its flagship model, BeoVision TVs, looks amazing, but can cost over 600,000 rubles. B&O also offers BeoPlay mid-range models and a Smart TV that can be suspended from the ceiling and connected to an Apple TV. Such models are cheaper than BeoVision, but 120,000 rubles for a 32-inch version is not the price limit.

Loewe: Crafted in their distinctive Danish style, Loewe TVs claim premium sound quality and premium features such as an integrated video player. Hence the price for the 32-inch model, which can exceed 80,000 rubles.

Cheap TVs

In addition to the big famous brands, a large share of sales comes from cheap TVs from lesser known manufacturers and even the products of the electronics stores themselves. Common to all these TVs is their low price, but when they fall into the hands of our experts, they usually turn out to be of insufficient quality upon closer examination.

Sincerely,
Technocontrol team

When choosing a new TV, users primarily pay attention to the technical characteristics and functionality of the device. This is a smart and rational approach. However, potential buyers are also wondering which brand of TV is better? Does the brand affect the quality of the technology?

The manufacturer's name plays an important role. Products from trusted companies will last much longer than devices from little-known manufacturers. Now we will determine which brands are leading in the development of TV.

The importance of choosing the right TV

It makes no sense to delve into the history of companies. This information can be found on Wikipedia. It is more important for users to find out what the manufacturer is today. Should you buy his products?

What brand of TV should I buy? Not the easiest question. To answer it, you need to take into account the financial capabilities of the buyer. Do not forget that advertising ambitions do not always correspond to the real situation.

The list of the best brands includes mainly South Korean and Japanese companies. Not so long ago, they released budget TV, but now they are naturally considered the leaders in this industry. Firstly, these companies offer an extensive lineup, which includes both flagships and budget devices. Second, they offer a technique with progressive functionality.

Popular TV brands

Let's start our acquaintance with the best TV manufacturers. Let's analyze the features of the manufactured equipment, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the most popular companies. Not only TV specifications were taken into account, but also real customer reviews.

When forming the rating, statistical information was taken into account. For example, how often did the owners of a TV from a certain manufacturer contact a service center. This information allows you to estimate the actual operating life of the equipment. Based on the information provided, you can draw conclusions as to which brand is better to choose TV.

Sony

A popular Japanese company that has been a leader in the production of televisions for a long period of time. Sony's highest quality was evident even on CRT models. Of course, there have been certain recessions in the history of the company. However, unlike many previously popular brands, of which only the name remains today, Sony continues to produce quality TVs every year.

If we talk about today's assortment, then the Japanese brand has relied on LED TVs. Users are offered both budget models and flagships. 2017 can be considered a milestone in the history of the company. It was then that the best Sony TV was released - the BRAVIA A1 with an OLED display.

Sony TVs compare favorably with the technology of other companies. The devices produced by the Japanese brand deliver lifelike images of superior quality. Buyers are attracted by the natural color palette and the absence of oversaturation.

The elegant and original design is the signature of the brand. That only is the appearance of the Sony KDL line. The company's asset can be safely added to the excellent build quality. Manufacturing facilities are located in Slovakia and Malaysia.

Main advantages:

  • a wide range of models with different screen sizes - from 32 to 100 inches;
  • the manufacturer produces TVs with matrices of different types: OLED, IPS, VA. The refresh rate ranges from 60-120 Hz;
  • highly efficient image quality enhancement technologies are used - 4K X-Reality PRO, Motionflow and others;
  • even Full HD models support HDR technology;
  • carefully thought-out design concept: narrow bezels, all wires are hidden, branded stand.

There are also certain disadvantages:

  • premium-class models are much more expensive when compared with TVs from other brands;
  • Smart TV functionality is focused on the use of paid services.

Please note that Sony TVs are assembled in Slovakia and Malaysia, not in China. Therefore, the higher cost of equipment is a completely natural phenomenon.

Lg

The second position is occupied by the South Korean TV manufacturer, which regularly produces the highest quality models. Where does LG lose to Sony? The fact is that on LG TVs, high-quality images are found mainly on models of the premium segment. Here you will find a wide range of interesting options. For example, if money allows you to pay attention to the elite LG Signature series. A regular Full HD model will broadcast a good picture, while it costs less than its counterpart from Sony.

The colossal popularity of this brand is due to the fact that the company continues to adhere to the original concept of development. The manufacturer makes every effort to regularly release high-quality, but financially affordable devices.

Mostly in LG TVs there are LCD-matrices with LED-backlight. Even the premium segment models are arranged in a similar way, for example, devices that support SUHD with Nano Cell technology.

Smart TV features are another reason why users often choose LG. Unlike other companies, the South Korean brand offers a huge number of free pre-installed apps.

Main advantages:

  • intuitive webOS operating system with the possibility of subsequent updates to increase performance;
  • a wide range of models with different resolutions - from HD Ready to 4K;
  • application of proprietary technology Active * HDR with support for HDR 10, Dolby Vision;
  • optimal viewing angle and rich colors for models equipped with proprietary IPS matrices;
  • Since 2017, absolutely all LG OLED TVs come with Dolby Atmos support.

As for the shortcomings, the following points should be highlighted:

  • in the process of playing "heavy" content online, the operating system starts to slow down;
  • many TV models do not have a headphone jack.

Samsung

In the modern TV market, Samsung is the most massive and therefore the most popular brand. This company produces many more models than its competitors. Moreover, you can find TVs with different diagonal - from 24 to 88 inches. This assortment will fully satisfy the needs of all users.

The flagship is the 4K QLED line (displays are based on quantum dots). This technology is the main vector of development. Because it is a counterbalance to OLED TVs promoted by other brands.

Of course, these are improved TVs, but they do not differ significantly from conventional LCD models with LED backlighting. Therefore, in the specifications, the brightness and color reproduction are higher, but in fact the image does not differ when compared with OLED TVs.

For the most part, modern Samsung models are classic Full HD and 4K LED TVs with a matrix refresh rate of 60-120 Hz. The viewing angle will be wide. Also worth mentioning is the decent black level and high contrast.

Main advantages:

  • a wide range of different models with a regular and curved screen;
  • proprietary technology significantly improves the original image;
  • video signal latency is minimized, which gamers will appreciate;
  • fast and intuitive Smart TV running on the Tizen operating system;
  • One Remote control, supporting voice switching of TV channels.

Flaws:

  • the cost of some TVs is frankly overpriced;
  • models assembled in Russia of very low quality.

Panasonic

A proven company that is a true old-timer in the TV market. The company has always been famous for the highest build quality. Many models were assembled in Japan. This applies not only to modern TVs, but also to CRT models.

It is not the most popular TV brand today. It is significantly inferior to Sony and South Korean brands. This is because the TV range is very limited. With a small number of models, it is very difficult to compete with the leaders.

Which is the best Panasonic TV to buy? The best option will be the premium segment models with OLED displays and 4K support. Realistic image, natural color palette - far from the full range of advantages. The build quality is also at the highest level. Separately, we highlight 4K HDR and 4K Pro HDR technologies.

6 series - the middle price segment. You will find budget models in the 4 and 5 series. They are produced in Belarus. Users note that the image is blurred in dynamic scenes.

Strengths:

  • implemented support for several HDR formats at once;
  • the brand has not abandoned the production of 3D models;
  • convenient Smart platform on the Firefox operating system;
  • modern and custom design;
  • long service life.

Better to buy 6 or 7 series models. They are going to the Czech Republic. Therefore, the quality is much higher than that of the Belarusian assembly.

Flaws:

  • overcharge;
  • budget models are inferior in image quality to devices of leading brands.

Philips

Philips has different models. Therefore, you can choose both a device from the premium segment and a budget TV. Inexpensive TVs are in greatest demand. The screens of such devices are capable of broadcasting images of the highest quality. The picture will pleasantly surprise even the most inveterate skeptics.

Good image quality is not the only strength of this brand. Philips has a special feature - dynamic backlighting. Of course, not all models are equipped with such lighting.

The disadvantages are predominantly programmatic in nature. Updating the operating system often fails to resolve previously encountered errors or other failures. Previously, the Philips trademark belonged to a well-known Dutch concern. Today it is the property of the Chinese company TP Vision. This is reflected in the quality of the products.

Advantages:

  • for a small amount of money, you can purchase a multifunctional TV;
  • when it comes to design, the company prefers minimalism. Despite this, Philips TVs always look modern;
  • natural image, maximum clarity and contrast of the image;
  • Ambilight option - unique lighting automatically changes the color palette in accordance with which scene is played on the screen;
  • remote controls with radio transmitter.

Flaws:

  • very inconvenient main menu and settings system;
  • Smart TV is slow.

Economy class TVs

Previously, we looked at TV manufacturers who produce mid to high end models. Now let's talk about companies that offer TV at affordable prices. Let's consider the popular brands of this segment, as well as analyze their advantages and disadvantages.

Thompson

Another brand that was popular before, but every year TV from this company is less and less common. In the early 2000s, the American-French company produced a really high-quality product that was in demand all over the world. Even then, the company decided to abandon the production of TVs, giving the right to use the trademark to the Chinese manufacturer TCL.

Thompson TVs today are unable to compete with Sony, Samsung or LG devices. However, they will definitely not get lost in the budget niche of the domestic market.

Today's lineup is represented by classic LED TVs. The diagonal of the screen starts at 19 "and ends with 55" models. There are many TVs with simple functionality. The manufacturer positions them as an excellent option for commercial use: hotels, cafes, offices, etc. There is a line with support for the Smart TV platform.

Advantages:

  • decent value for money;
  • simple settings system;
  • narrow frames and minimalist design;
  • all models are equipped with a digital TV tuner;
  • TVs are equipped with all the necessary interfaces.

Flaws:

  • software failures in Smart TV;
  • viewing angles are poor.

Akai

The manufacturer is considered one of the leaders in the middle price segment. Of course, Akai also makes premium models. Inexpensive TVs from this brand boast a wide viewing angle, high-quality Smart TV platform.

TVs from a little-known Japanese brand are equipped with powerful speakers, which are very rare. Stylish and modern design is another indisputable advantage of TV from this company.

To understand which TV brand to buy, you need to carefully examine the advantages and disadvantages. Let's start with the strengths:

  • convenient menu with a huge number of different modes;
  • natural and rich color palette;
  • instant response;
  • support for all modern formats has been implemented;
  • affordable price.

Flaws:

  • in some situations, users have complaints about the build quality.

Supra

Not sure which TV brand to choose? Check out Supra TVs. Previously, this manufacturer was Japanese. Therefore, the quality of the products was much higher. Today this trade mark is the result of Russian-Chinese cooperation. The TV quality has dropped, but it is still at a decent level.

Supra predominantly manufactures compact LED TVs with a diagonal of up to 50 inches. There are very few 4K models, the stake is on affordable Full HD devices.

The manufacturer uses high-quality matrices and backlights, which allows you to create inexpensive TVs with a realistic image. Reviews about the products of this company are very contradictory. Customer complaints are more related to expensive models.

Main advantages:

  • price-quality ratio;
  • modern design;
  • Smart TV platform runs on Android OS;
  • built-in digital tuner;
  • excellent build quality.

Flaws:

  • poor sound quality;
  • Smart TV crashes;
  • poor analogue TV reception.

Hitachi

Another firm that was once a legend. Hitachi is a Japanese company that produces a wide variety of products. In 2012, the rights to manufacture TV under the Hitachi trademark were sold. The new owners are gradually expanding the range of equipment.

Advantages:

  • affordable price;
  • build quality;
  • rich palette of colors.

Flaws:

  • too limited range.

Televisions are produced under different brands, when companies invested in the development of new technologies and won the attention and respect of users.

But our days have come, TVs have changed a lot and many companies simply cannot compete in the TV segment. And there were three types of companies:

  • Companies that develop new technologies and produce televisions.
  • Companies engaged in the assembly of televisions from various components sometimes produce televisions and famous brands by purchasing the right for this (production of televisions under license).
  • Companies that do not produce TVs, but produce components for TVs

Now, when buying a TV from a famous brand, it may well turn out that the company that made a name for its TV actually has not made TVs for a very long time, having sold its TV business along with the trademark or licensed the use of another company's brand.

The new owner began to reduce the cost of production by transferring production to third countries, since 2011 all products Blaupunkt manufactured to order in China on third-party assembly lines. Naturally, the quality suffered, many companies that previously bought products for installation in manufactured products (for example, cars) refused to do so. In 2016, the company was declared bankrupt. The company was liquidated in 2016. The factories are sold, the staff is fired.

Since 2016, since the brand Blaupunkt owned by an investment company Aurelius AG, the trademark rights are controlled by a subsidiary of Aurelius AG, the company GIP Development SARL which deals with the licensing of brands.
