How to extend protection in aliexpress. What is Buyer Protection on Aliexpress? What is order protection

One of the guarantees for the timely delivery of goods and the return of funds provided by the Chinese trading platform Aliexpress to its numerous customers is the order protection period.

What is the order protection period?

The obligation of each seller is to guarantee the timely delivery of the order ... that is, if the goods purchased on Aliexpress are not delivered within the period set by the seller, then the buyer has the full right to a refund of the money paid for this product. The maximum standard warranty period is set at 60 days (for Russia - 90 days, for Brazil - 120 days).

The money-back guarantee also extends to 15 days after the completion of the order. Despite the accepted standards, the period may be:

  • Less if the Aliexpress seller is confident in the sufficient speed of delivery of the goods by the postal services used and in the quality of the goods sold.
  • More, if the Aliexpress seller sends the goods to distant countries, the delivery falls on the time of national Chinese holidays or the buyer independently requests an extension of the order protection period.

In what cases is it necessary to extend the order protection time?

Since the buyer is the interested party in the timely receipt of the goods, it is he who will have to carefully monitor the time during which his order is protected by the guarantees of the Aliexpress trading platform.

To extend buyer protection:

  1. When the protection time expires and the goods have not yet been delivered to the buyer, the buyer can request an extension.
  2. When the goods are delivered, the protection period has almost expired, and the buyer needs time to check the operability of the goods (as a rule, these are appliances, devices, and the like category of goods).

Where can I see the order protection time?

You can find out the time during which the order is fully protected by the guarantees of the Aliexpress trading platform:

How to extend the order protection time?

When the term expires, you can extend the protection in two ways:

  • Write a message to the Aliexpress seller on the "Order Information" page with a request to extend the protection.
  • Leave a request to the seller to extend the term on the "Order Information" page. To do this, click on the hyperlink “Request an extension of buyer protection”.

In the window that opens, be sure to specify the number of days - the period for which the buyer would like to extend the protection.

The seller reviews the buyer's application for an extension within two business days. If the application is approved, the seller extends the deadline and sends a notification to the buyer's email address. If the seller did not react in any way to the filing of the application, then the protection can no longer be extended and the buyer needs to urgently open a dispute.

After submitting an order on the "Order Data" page, the system automatically generates a comment for the seller, fixing the time, term and text of the buyer's order.

Often, conscientious Aliexpress sellers, without waiting for an application from the buyer, independently extend the protection. This happens when the seller becomes aware of a delay in the delivery of goods by the transport company. In this case, the seller extends the order protection time and notifies the buyer of the terms and reasons for the extension.

If you constantly shop on AliExpress, you must have been in a situation where you received a message that the seller extended the buyer protection period for one of your orders.

Buyer Protection
- this is a period of time when the buyer is fully protected from financial losses associated with late delivery and poor quality of goods. Each seller can specify a different buyer protection period (most often 45-60 days), but if the package has not been delivered within this period, the buyer can open a dispute, demanding a full refund on the order.

When buying on AliExpress, you should be aware that the seller will not receive money for the order until the buyer confirms the receipt of the goods and the absence of any claims regarding the delivery and quality of the order.

Knowing this, sellers very often use the function of extending the buyer protection period in order to protect themselves as much as possible from financial losses associated with the sent order. Such actions do not violate the AliExpress rules in any way, in addition, the buyer can also extend the protection period on the order details page, if necessary.

What to do if the seller extended the buyer protection period

If the seller extended the buyer protection period, he violated the rules of the Aliexpress trading platform, since he does not have the right to extend the protection period without the consent of the buyer. Unfortunately, sellers very often ignore the opinion of their buyers.

In such a situation, we recommend opening a dispute, and in the text of the claim, describe your disagreement with the actions of the seller. Insist that the store representative has overstepped his authority. But be prepared for the fact that the seller refuses to return the money on the order, and then you will need to resort to exacerbate the dispute so that the disagreements that have arisen can be resolved by the Aliexpress support service.

The chances of obtaining a cancellation of the extension of the buyer's protection and a refund will be highest in the situation when there are several days left until the end of the protection period, and at this moment the seller, without the consent of the buyer, extends the buyer's protection period.

However, you should not try to deceive the seller and AliExpress by receiving the goods, but claiming that he did not come. The seller can always contact the carrier company and find out the details of the package.

To do this, you need to understand what protection of an order for aliexpress is.

What is the order protection period on Aliexpress?

I'll tell you everything with a specific example, since my order protection is already expiring, but the package is still on the way. In the beginning, it is important to understand a simple thing: for each of your orders, the seller determines the DEADLINE for which he undertakes to deliver the goods:

As you can see, the timer for my order is already ending, and about 3-4 days before the deadline, you should receive an email with the following content:

If you see that the order is closed for aliexpress, what does this mean? This is such a wake up call that you need to go to aliexpress and do something.

If you do nothing, then you will most likely lose money and will then blame the seller, since the transaction will AUTOMATICALLY CLOSE after the expiration of the protection period. It's not his fault, only you will be to blame.

What to do if the protection of the order for aliexpress ends?

What to do if the order processing time expires on aliexpress? There are several options for the development of events, and it is important to follow the advice of aliexpress. What does he advise?

1. If the confirmation time for aliexpress has expired, and the goods have not arrived, or you are unhappy with the goods received, You can click " ". Please note that after the expiration of the Buyer Protection period, the order will be closed automatically and the money will be transferred to the seller.

If you are sure that the seller did not send the goods to you, or you doubt it, since the track is not tracked, then it is better to open a dispute.

Be prepared for the seller to WHINE that the dispute is hurting him, asking you to close the dispute and BELIEVE IN A MIRACLE. There will be no miracle, most likely, only sometimes the package still arrives very late and then I'm honest.

You must understand that if you close the dispute and the package does not arrive, you WILL NOT RECEIVE ANYTHING. And the fact that the seller did not make a track number for the parcel is his own fault, the greed of the fraer ruined, as they say.

2. You can also extend Buyer Protection. To do this, contact the seller directly or click "Request Buyer Protection Extension" to request an extension.

If you see by the track number that the package is already on its way, then you can write to the seller and ask him to extend the order time. If there is no parcel later (they may lose or steal on the way), then open a dispute.

As you can see, my order arrived in Belarus and most likely the goods will arrive in the mail soon. I wrote to the seller and asked to extend the time of the order, if he does not answer me in a couple of days, then I will open a dispute.

Nothing complicated, the main thing is to indicate your work mail and periodically look there so as not to miss the treasured letter.

And this confidence gives - Protection of the Buyer. Let's look at the article and consider what order protection is and how to extend it if necessary.

Do you use the cashback service when shopping on Aliexpress in order to return up to 15% of the cost of the goods? If not, read on and start saving.

What is order protection for Ali and why is it needed

As I wrote above, this is a guarantee of the honesty of the transaction, and the Aliexpress platform acts as a guarantor. Its principle is very simple - the money that the buyer transfers for the goods is held by Aliexpress. The seller can receive them only after the buyer confirms that the postal item has been received.

Starting from the moment the buyer paid for the goods and until the moment the parcel was received, the site sets the protection time, which will be valid for the entire period. It corresponds to the period of delivery of the goods, which is guaranteed by the store.

Depending on the delivery service, it can be valid for 45 - 90 days. However, the parcels are not always packed during this period, so after this period, you can either extend the protection (more on that below), or open a dispute and get your money back - you can read how to open a dispute

Where can I see the Buyer Protection Period?

Beginners on the court often cannot figure out where to watch the remaining time of defense. Everything is simple here. You can see the treasured numbers in the order itself:

  • from a computer– to do this, go to the “My Orders” section, select the one you are interested in and in it you will see how many days are left before the order is closed;

  • from the application- also “My orders”, we find the right one, click on it and see the phrase “Order protection will end in (so many days)”.

What does it mean for Aliexpress that the order protection will end in ... days?

According to the rules of the site, if the time runs out, the transaction is automatically closed and the money goes to the store where the purchase was made. That is, for example, if you have written that buyer protection will end in 5 days, then after 5 days, if you do nothing- the transaction will be automatically completed.

However, in this case, you can try to return the money. As a rule, after the transaction is closed, the buyer has 15 days to open a dispute. Therefore, you can try to return the money, but only if you did not actually receive the package. Don't cheat, it always ends badly.

How to extend the buyer protection period

There are situations when, for a number of reasons, the postal item is delayed on the way, and by tracking you see that the parcel is really going, but does not have time to reach the end of the allotted time.

The New Year holidays are especially busy, when a huge number of parcels are sent, or holidays in China itself, when the postal services of this country do not work. As a result, a huge number of parcels accumulate at the sorting points, which simply do not have time to process.

What to do if the protection of the order ends, and you have not received your goods yet? There are 3 options here:

  • make a request for an extension of time;
  • the seller himself can add time;
  • open a dispute if the package is not received before the deadline.

Option 1.Request an extension of protection on Aliexpress. In this case, you need to contact the seller with a request to increase the delivery time. You can do this from your order, go to "Details" and click on the phrase shown in the screenshot.

Now in the new window, specify how many days you want to extend the protection time, then click "Submit".

After that, the seller must confirm the renewal. If there is no reaction from him within a couple of days, then just open a dispute.

Option 2.The seller himself without your knowledge can extend the period until the completion of the order. What should I do if the seller has extended Aliexpress Buyer Protection without my knowledge? There are no problems here either: either everything suits you and you continue to wait for the package, or if the guaranteed delivery time has passed, you can open a dispute and return the money (even if the timer is still a couple of weeks old).

How many times can a seller renew protection? You can increase the time several times, but only up to 120 days. If during this period the goods did not arrive, then it is unlikely to arrive, so feel free to open a dispute.

Option 3. If the period expires and you do not want to renew it, you can open a dispute for a refund.

How to extend protection in the mobile application

No matter how convenient the Aliexpress application is, there has been a problem in it for many years already - this is the inability to extend order protection in the mobile application. Unfortunately, all you can do on the mobile version is send a message to the seller asking them to extend the time.

I think we have dealt with this issue. Therefore, that's all! I wish you success.

Changing the functionality on the Aliexpress Internet site does not always please buyers. In Runet, a wave of indignation has already risen among Ali users: the creators of the resource have decided that it is necessary to remove the timer that counts down until the end of the Buyer Protection. Instead, it was decided to indicate a specific date by which the order should be delivered.

Now, as always, let's get down to the details.

A couple of days ago, the usual timer counted down the days until the end of Buyer Protection. For those users who use the mobile application, such a count is still being conducted. Perhaps the developers have not yet managed to change the functionality, or maybe they are testing the innovation on the main site first.

Having a timer was very helpful for users to determine when to start worrying about renewing Buyer Protection. Still would! When the timer shows that there are 2-3 days left, then any buyer will start to fuss.

Now, if you log into your account, you will see the final date by which the order must arrive. That is, the seller usually indicates how long the goods will be moved, depending on the logistics service. Based on the maximum expected period, the end date is calculated. True, already in the product card it is immediately indicated that the delivery time sometimes changes due to problems with logistics or delays due to the intrigues of customs officers.

There is little benefit for buyers in such an innovation (according to the editors of AliTrust). Let's explain: it's summer, holidays, find out what today number, only those who constantly work with documentation and write the date in various certificates, notifications, etc. from the very morning can. According to statistics, even in winter, before remembering what date it is today, people think, and sometimes look at the calendar. And now we have to think about tracking orders.

The good news is that Buyer Protection extensions remain available. It is likely that after the seller increases the waiting period by the number of days you requested, the date by which the goods will be delivered will automatically change.

If the product does not arrive by the time indicated on the product card, as before, you can open a Dispute (but subject to the Protection) and demand your money back. The dispute will be settled in favor of the buyer, if only he applied on time.

Email Notifications

Notifications are still sent to e-mail, which indicate the expected delivery time under the new rules. All rights and opportunities of buyers remain the same.

If the seller extends the Buyer Protection time without consulting the buyer (and this often happens), the latter will find out about this from a letter automatically sent to him by the AliExpress system.

What do you say? Has anything changed for you personally with this innovation? Write in the comments.
