Satellite dish without receiver. Receiving tricolor broadcasts without using a receiver

History Corner!

Yes, that’s what I wrote in 2013! In a word, a few lyrical memories, or what we worked with not so long ago.

  • No need for a separate receiver.
  • No need for HDMI-HDMI connecting cord
  • No need for a separate remote control.

But you can forget about the “ball”, which is not a disadvantage for owners of official access cards.

But if the TV has a built-in digital tuner that supports the DVB-S2 standard, this means that the TV will receive (if the antenna is correctly tuned to the satellite) the signal satellite channels.

TV with built-in satellite receiver, however, be careful:

This is where confusion can sometimes occur, because other tuners with similar names are built into the panels and have nothing to do with satellite TV.

So:

— The tuner for digital broadcasting is called DVB-T2 or DVB-T (not suitable)
— The tuner for cable digital broadcasting is called DVB-C (not suitable)
— The tuner for satellite digital broadcasting is called DVB-S2 or DVB-S(Fits)

The letter T stands for terrestrial TV, the letter C for cable, and the S for satellite. As you can see, the difference is only in one letter, and the tuners are completely different.

Installation of antenna equipment does not differ from standard installation using an external receiver.

TVs with a built-in satellite receiver easily scan channels both manually and automatic mode, but only unencrypted channels will be shown.

Almost all modern TVs with a built-in satellite tuner support the DiSEqC 1.0 protocol, which means you can receive signals from at least four satellites using a 4x1 DiSEqC switch.

One... just a satellite receiver and antenna built into the TV will not be enough.

The fact is that almost all television channels broadcast from satellites are not broadcast in an open format, but in one encoding or another.

"AS PLUS" - in Crypt On, Tricolor TV - in DRE Crypt, "NTV +" and many erotic operators - in Viaccess, "Raduga TV" and "Continent TV" - in Irdeto, "Telekarta" - in Conax and etc.

And therefore, having installed an antenna and tuned in the channels of one or another operator on your TV, on the screen, instead of the long-awaited high-quality image and favorite program, you will only see an inscription something like “Coded channel”.

To solve this problem you need to purchase and install in your satellite tv decoding device - the so-called access module ()

Do you mean that 90% of satellite TV channels are encoded!

And so... TV with built-in satellite receiver

NTV+ conditional access module Viaccess CI+ for setting up NTV-Plus channels on DVB-S2 TVs of various brands.

Let's start with Samsung, for example:

First, it is advisable to reset the TV to factory settings:

Menu > support > self diagnostic > reset > ok.

After the reboot, go to menu > channel > antenna > select the “satellite” value.

We uncheck all satellites that are installed by default (if this fails, you need to remove the CAM module from the slot and reset the TV again).

We scroll through and select the EutelsatW4 36E satellite, in the LNB settings we select transponder 12130 R, lower gene. LNB - 0, top - 10750.

Then we go to “manual settings”, look for the 12130 R transponder, turn on “network search” and click “search”.
We wait for the search for NTV-Plus channels to complete and save the found channels.

You can then sort the channels to your liking with some...Channel List Editor

If the EutelsatW4 36E satellite is not in the settings, do this:

Select “User sat 1”.

We create our satellite (put a bird in front of it) and save it.

We go to the LNB settings and configure the parameters: DISEqC - off.
bottom gen. LNB - 10750
top gen. LNB - 10750
Tone 22 KHz. — Auto
We don’t put anything in the “transponder” section; we will add them manually. Next, we exit this submenu, go to the “manual setup” section, see our new satellite and click “scan”.
The “transponders” section will be empty, select “create”.

We need transponder frequencies, flow rates and polarization types for each channel package.

11785 R, 11862 R, 11900 R, 11938 R,11977 R,11996 L,12015 R,12092R,12245 R,12284 R,12322 R,12341L,12380 L,12399 R,12265 L,12437 R,
12456 L,12476 R,DVB-S2/8PSK11823 R,12073 L,12130 R,12207 R

Attention!

These frequencies have SR 27500 FEC 3/4 Set the polarization type correctly (L) or (R)

Let's continue... we enter the frequency (using numbers directly from the remote control), the transmission speed (also from the remote control) and select the type of polarization (L or R). Click “save”.
The network name “NTV-PLUS” appears, click “search” and “OK”.

The channel package for this transponder is scanned and stored in the TV memory. Then everything is repeated for each subsequent transponder.

There, in the “manual setup” menu, click “scan” in the “transponder” section, create the next one with your data, and so on. All previous loaded and scanned transponders with settings and channels are saved.

As a result, we get all NTV-PLUS channels.

But don’t forget about the cable:

Cable connections may cause interference on the TV screen and reduce signal quality if:

— cable length exceeds 50 meters;

— the cable is bent at an acute angle;

— the cable is joined from separate pieces (The situation is especially worse if cable sections of different thickness and quality are used);

— the cable includes a flat adapter cable that is clamped into the window frame (I really don’t recommend using this thing - it sharply “degrades” the signal);

- cable Low quality, with a thin inner core, does not provide tight contact when connected to a receiver or a “DiSEgC” switch;

— the cable is connected not with a standard coupling, but with a “collective farm” twist;

— a low-quality cable is used that is not sufficiently shielded (Metal braid and foil).

The cable does not transmit a signal at all if:

— F-plugs at the ends of the wire are incorrectly screwed on or, due to the influence of dampness and oxidation of the metal, there is no normal contact;

— the cable is damaged;

— the cable is connected to a wall outlet intended for cable television;

The cable may cause poor switching of channels with different polarization if:

The cable is joined from separate pieces (The situation is especially worse if cable sections of different thickness and quality are used).

Disadvantages in the operation of the kit related to the plate.

The slightest deformation of the plate can lead to a sharp deterioration in the signal. The size of the dish is not the only criterion that determines the ability to receive signals from several satellites.

The shape of the plate and the wind resistance of all its elements are of great importance. In any case, it should not shake or even vibrate in the wind, not to mention deviation from the satellite.

Like that.

I’ll add... I wrote the article because a not at all old (TV, satellite and working computer monitor) Philips refused to work and the repair was approaching half the price of a new one.

I bought (LG 32LA620S) with a built-in satellite receiver!

Friends, during this time I have already replaced two working TVs! On this moment I work on Samsung. It's a 4K TV and, in addition, a computer monitor!

Something like this excursion into, if you have such a TV, then everything written in the ideological sense is correct, however, Transponder parameters have changed in many ways.

Good luck to you!

Summarizing

As a result, we can say that televisions with a built-in satellite receiver are undoubtedly needed and in demand. They are set up quite simply, and anyone can handle it. The models presented above are quite different from each other. The LG 24LB450U TV is in greatest demand. In pursuit of better image quality, you can consider Samsung models. The TV shown above is a pretty good choice.

Until recently, it was possible to connect a home TV to watch television channels from a satellite only to a dish antenna through a special receiver - a satellite receiver. Is it possible to get satellite TV without a dish and without a receiver?
It is now possible to view satellite TV without receiver. Many modern TV models have a built-in digital tuner that supports the DVB-S2 standard, and a special slot for installing a CI+ access module. If you have a connected and correctly configured satellite antenna, the TV receives signals satellite operator and allows you to watch satellite TV without a receiver set-top box. The antenna cable from the satellite dish must be connected using an F-connector to a special antenna input located next to the input of a regular terrestrial antenna.

Of course, this connection is convenient for several reasons:
1) There is no need to purchase additional device- satellite receiver.
2) There is no need to free up space in the interior to install it.
3) To view, you only need one television remote control, not two. This is much more convenient to use - you don’t need to grab different remote controls, and besides, they have the ability to get lost and fail.
4) The number of wires connected to the TV is reduced.

produced by many well-known manufacturers of television equipment: Samsung, LG, Philips and others. The external difference of a satellite receiver on a TV is the presence next to the input of a regular antenna, another antenna input with a threaded connection for the F-connector. However, the presence of a second tuner does not always mean the ability to connect a satellite dish. The same input is used to connect digital broadcast channels DVB-T or DVB-C cable channels. Only presence in the TV characteristics DVB-S tuner or DVB-S2, means the ability to receive satellite television channels. Often, such an antenna input is combined for all types of digital signals and is designated DVB-T/T2/C/S/S2. The S2 standard is more modern, but TVs with a built-in satellite receiver of the S standard receive both standard and high-definition HDTV signals.

To decode channels you need a CAM module and an access card. Without this module, it is only possible to view an extremely limited number of channels broadcast without encoding in the public domain. All TVs with a DVB-S2 digital tuner support CAM modules - a device into which an operator card is inserted satellite television, and which in turn is inserted into the PCMCIA TV connector.
After installing the module, you need to connect the cable from the satellite dish to a special socket on the TV using the F-connector. Next, you need to start the TV to search for satellite channels.
In the TV menu you need to select the input signal source: terrestrial TV, cable TV, satellite - put a tick in the appropriate box. We search for satellite channels on all frequencies. The TV finds a large number of channels and stores them in its memory, while only information channels are open for viewing. At this stage, the functionality of the module inserted into the pcmcia slot and the compatibility of the CI+ card with the TV are checked.

Next, you need to register the agreement and activate the purchased conditional access card. On the provider’s website, you need to select a package of television channels, enter the contract number and smart card number. In the "Terminal Model" field, you must select CI+.
After submitting your registration application, you must leave the TV on one of the encrypted channels of the program package you have chosen. The connection occurs automatically within two hours.

TV with two satellite receivers

TV models with two satellite receivers allow you to simultaneously view two satellite television channels in PIP mode, or record one channel while watching another.
To watch a satellite channel and simultaneously record another channel, you need to connect two identical cables from the satellite dish to the TV directly without a receiver. Connect the first cable from the satellite dish directly to the SAT 1 connector, and the second - to the SAT 2 connector. To do this, use a coaxial cable with an appropriate F connector. Before starting installation, check the location of the satellite dish. During satellite installation, select Dual Tuner mode.

Manually tuning your TV to satellite channels without a receiver

To manually tune satellite channels without a receiver, you need to select MANUAL TUNING and DIGITAL CHANNEL on the TV remote control in the MENU section. In the FREQUENCY parameter, enter the value 144000 KHz, in the MODULATION parameter enter the value QAM 64, in the TRANSMISSION RATE parameter set the value 6900 KS/S. Search for channels.
This tuning procedure must be repeated for frequencies 122000, 130000, 138000, 154000, 162000, 298000, 394000 KHz.

CAM module Tricolor

CAM module Tricolor allows you to view satellite channels on modern TVs with a CI slot. Thus, it replaces the necessary additional equipment - digital receiver, the tricolor card is inserted into the TV like into a satellite receiver. An additional condition for viewing satellite channels without a receiver is the presence of a DVB-S/S2 digital tuner in the television receiver. Such a tuner is installed in almost all modern mid-price TVs currently produced. You can check this using the technical specifications in the TV's operating instructions. The Tricolor CAM module allows you to receive broadcasts both in standard SD digital quality and in high quality HD television image format.

It has the following purpose: decoding MPEG2\4 TV channels protected from unauthorized viewing by the operator's conditional access system. The Tricolor CI+ module is Plug and Play, its installation is simple and straightforward. With its help, one television or radio channel of Tricolor TV is decoded simultaneously. The system supports only 14-digit identification numbers of the Tricolor TV smart card of the form xx0245хх…xx

Satellite TV without NTV plus receiver

Set satellite TV without receiver NTV+ allows you to watch NTV plus satellite TV channels on modern TVs. A prerequisite is the presence of a DVB-S2 digital tuner and a special slot in the television receiver Common Interface CI+, into which you need to insert an NTV card. Thus, there is no need for a special satellite receiver; it is enough to install a special dish in the satellite visibility range, set to position 36E. Then you need to insert a CAM module into the TV slot with a conditional access card installed in it, and enjoy watching NTV satellite channels.

How to set up satellite TV on your TV?

How to set up satellite TV on your TV ELENBERG? There is a socket for connecting a dish, but I can’t even find instructions for it anywhere.

We are often approached with this question, and, as a rule, it is the owners of televisions that are not among the well-known brands. Such devices can receive regular television channels quite well and have acceptable image parameters. But the presence of a satellite tuner does not mean the possibility of stable reception of this type of signal.
Television operators transmit signals on different channels and with different technical characteristics: for reception on S or S2 tuners, using different versions of the CI module, with different bit rates. For stable reception of modern television from a receiving antenna directly, without a receiver, it is necessary that the TV has the following parameters:
Availability of digital built-in satellite tuner DVB-S2.
Availability of an interface for connecting electronic modules CI new version CI+ (CI Plus).
Correctly working required software Latest software.
Supports signal bit rate of 45000 MHz. The conditional access card must be placed in the module so that the chip faces in the direction opposite to the barcode sticker on the CAM module.
Insert the module with the card installed into it into a special slot on the pcmci TV with the barcode to the screen. Installation completed.

Not so long ago, to view any satellite channels, you required not only a special antenna, but also a receiver, which is a receiver. Today, thanks to the latest developments, you can view Tricolor channels without it. Most modern TVs already have a built-in tuner that supports the necessary standards, as well as a slot for the CI module. Correctly setting up the antenna allows you to receive operator signals, so a receiver set-top box from the Tricolor provider is not required.

Antenna connection and module installation

To watch Tricolor TV channels, the antenna is connected to the F-connector, which is located near the regular terrestrial antenna.

This option has several advantages:

  • minimum number of wires;
  • All you need to control is the TV remote control;
  • no need to look for a place to install the receiver;
  • no need to buy a satellite receiver.

To decode Tricolor channels, it is enough to install a special smart card, as well as a module, without which you can watch only the minimum number of channels that are open. Removing or installing a module is carried out only when the equipment is turned off. The CAM module with the card is mounted in the PCMCI slot, with the barcode facing the screen.

TVs that already have DVB-S2 tuners installed are able to support these modules. They are a device in which a Tricolor card is installed and the whole thing is inserted into the connector from the TV. After the module is installed, the cable is connected and the TV itself turns on in search mode. In the menu, the satellite signal transmission source is set and the channel search begins. The system detects channels, remembers them, but is open in in this case only news TV channels. These actions are carried out to check the functionality and compatibility of the module and the TV.

The next step is to register the agreement and activate the access card without a receiver. The procedure is carried out on the official website of the Tricolor TV provider, where a package of channels is selected, the card and contract number are entered. In this case, CI+ is placed in the field labeled “Terminal model”. This application is sent for subsequent verification and registration with the operator's company. During this time, the TV must remain on any encrypted channel of the selected package. Automatic connection occurs within two hours.

Module and manual configuration

The Tricolor module, which works without a receiver, allows subscribers to view channels at any time. It is a kind of replacement for additional equipment. However, in this case there is one main condition - the presence of an appropriate connector on the TV. It is always present on modern TVs. You can determine the location of this connector using the instructions from the TV. The satellite channel operator allows you to view channels through the module in high quality HD or digital SD format.

To manually tune Tricolor channels without using any receiver, you need to enable manual tuning on the TV in the corresponding menu. You also need to set the modulation parameters - QAM 64. The transmission speed should be 6900 KS/S, after which the search starts. This procedure is also performed for frequencies from 144000 to 394999KHz.

Main purpose of the module

The module used in the TV has several important purposes:

  • it allows you to decode channels;
  • protects against unauthorized viewing attempts;
  • transmits a high-quality signal;
  • saves space;
  • reduces power consumption due to the fact that there is no receiver.

Due to its features and easy installation, it is now becoming increasingly popular. It can simultaneously decode one radio signal or Tricolor TV signal. However, the system itself can only support card identification numbers that have fourteen digits.

In addition, the presented map ensures correct operation when viewing the “Optimum” package. You can purchase the module in the official store of the satellite television operator Tricolor TV with various configuration options. You can also order various satellite equipment and necessary services here.

Best operator in Russia

Tricolor can rightfully be called one of the most modern operators in Russia, which tries in every possible way to offer its subscribers only the best services at competitive prices. The choice of packages is actually small, however, each of them includes a large selection of different channels for children and adults. We are very pleased with the affordable prices for the packages offered - you just need to pay from 150 to 900 rubles once a year and you don’t have to worry about anything. For a low cost, each subscriber will be able to watch their favorite TV shows and movies in the highest quality.

Tricolor TV has been operating for more than fifteen years and offers customers a variety of equipment and service support. And now customers can take advantage of a completely new and very convenient service for watching satellite channels without additional equipment - they only need to purchase a module that is inserted into the TV. There is nothing superfluous - no waste of money, no wires, no unnecessary equipment. Subscribers have only one thing left to do - enjoy a high-quality signal and a wide variety of channels from Tricolor.

The key advantage of satellite television is the ability to connect and watch it where other types of television are not available. Other advantages include high-quality image and sound, a large number of television channels for every taste. Moreover, many of them can be watched absolutely free.

Today, in literally every city there is a company that offers a set of services for installing and configuring satellite television. However, with some knowledge and skill, you can do this yourself. The main points of connecting satellite television will be discussed in the article below.

Literally at every thematic forum the idea will be voiced that a kit for receiving satellite TV can be assembled independently from individual components. But the solution to this problem is not for the average user. He simply does not have enough knowledge for this. Today there is an easier way out. It is enough to pay a visit to the nearest satellite television provider. At the provider’s office, you can sign a service agreement, buy a ready-made kit for receiving satellite television, and select the best package of channels for yourself in terms of price and content.

The average kit for receiving satellite TV includes (minimum set) the following components.

  1. Plate - deflector, a reflector of satellite radio frequency radiation. Today, the provider offers the optimal characteristics of this element for a particular area. That is, 60 cm dishes for good coverage areas, 80, 90 or 120 cm for areas with weak signals.
  2. Converter, necessary to convert high-frequency radio signals into electrical energy.
  3. Mounting kit for fixing the antenna.
  4. A rod for attaching the converter to the deflector.
  5. Basic set of cables.
  6. Receiver for signal conversion and connecting conventional TVs.

The equipment set can be expanded or reduced according to the user's wishes. For example, it will not be difficult to buy only an antenna, its mounting kit and a converter for those whose TVs are immediately equipped with a satellite tuner. Or purchase a more complex receiver instead of the basic version, including one with the ability to organize an in-house signal distribution network or connection to the Internet.

How to connect a TV to a satellite dish

There are 2 ways to connect a TV to a satellite dish:

  • the cable connects directly to the TV receiver;

Direct connection to TV receiver

As you know, a receiver is required to watch satellite TV. But modern TVs have begun to install digital tuners DVB-S2, which make it possible not to use an external receiver, connect the cable to the TV directly from the “dish”, and catch TV from the satellite.

To find out whether your TV supports this function, you can look at the description of the device, which can be found on various websites that sell consumer electronics.

But, unfortunately, the TV will only receive free (not encrypted) foreign channels. To watch domestic TV via satellite, you will need to buy a smart access card that connects to the TV via a PCMCIA interface.

The card is purchased together with a suitable satellite TV package, which can be chosen from among the many operators offering this service. The convenience of using such a connection is obvious:

  • there is no need to purchase a separate receiver;
  • You only need one remote control to change channels.

How to choose a location to install an antenna

For an antenna to show good reception, it must be positioned and aimed correctly. The easiest way to solve this problem is espionage. That is, you can spy on where the antennas are installed on neighbors who also use the services of the same provider.

But a better course of action is to use the information provided by on the website of the telecom operator itself. Here, at a minimum, the satellite from which television channels are broadcast is indicated. Next, the user can:

  • use interactive maps that are offered on the website of the satellite television provider;
  • use applications that can be downloaded on the service operator’s website;
  • install on your mobile device SatFinder program, which has an extensive list of satellites from which you just need to select the one you need.

The main thing that the user will receive based on such data and services is an understanding of on which wall of the house to install a deflector. This is the most important step. It is the correct placement of the antenna that will ensure direct visibility of the satellite.

Important! The height of the future location of the deflector is chosen so that there is no interference in the signal path in the form of tree branches, wires, large objects, or other buildings.

Accurate plate orientation

The data that the user receives from the provider’s services or third-party applications includes horizon and azimuth indicators. They describe the orientation of the antenna in space to create a direct line of sight to the satellite. This will ensure effective signal reception.

This is how you should use this information.

  1. Azimuth describes the rotation of the antenna relative to the north direction. That is, using even the magnetic compass of your phone, you can easily correctly rotate the deflector in the horizontal plane.
  2. Horizon indicator describes the angle of inclination of the antenna relative to the vertical. To correctly orient the deflector, you will need a plumb line (weight on a string) and a protractor.

In order to make the work of setting up the antenna easier, you should immediately take some measures when installing it. Thus, a rod located at a great distance from the wall will allow you to rotate the antenna without the danger of blocking it. If the device is installed on a balcony, it is better to mount it on a corner, vertical fence post or concrete structure.

How to attach the antenna

The antenna is supplied with a mounting kit in the form of plates or a rotating block. To fix the device, you need to firmly tighten the bolts by tightening the corresponding nuts. This is done after fine tuning device position. The option offered by the manufacturer is quite reliable.

However, the antenna vibrates during its operation. She has a high windage and trembles in the wind. Birds land on it. Sometimes the latter arrange long gatherings there. Therefore, over time, the mount suggested by the manufacturer may weaken and the antenna will move. To prevent this from happening, it is recommended make reinforcements.

A simple option looks like this: the clamping nuts are duplicated. After it is finally clamped, another one is screwed on top of the main one. This is done very tightly. If there is a washer to prevent the joint from coming loose, it can be placed between the two nuts. The price of such strengthening is minimal, and its reliability is very high.

Therefore, the option of duplicating the clamping nuts on a conventional antenna mounting kit is preferable.

Cable preparation

When the installation of the plate is completed, you will need to prepare and a cable for connecting the antenna to the TV. The F connector is a simple grommet that is screwed onto the cable, so it is important that it is threaded.

If the output on your TV or receiver is adapted for an F-connector, then connecting the TV to a satellite dish will not be difficult. If your TV has a regular antenna output, you will need buy an adapter.

You can, of course, buy a regular antenna plug, but they are often of poor quality. In the case of an F-ki with an adapter, you get a universal plug that can be connected to both the F-output and the antenna.

Before connecting the cable to the TV, do the following.

Connection and setup

To prepare to watch TV, you need to do the following:

  1. The plug must be connected to the TV connector called “LNB Satellite IN” (the setting is carried out using the example of an LG TV receiver).

  2. Now, after connecting the antenna to the TV, you can turn on the device, go to settings and select automatic channel search.

  3. When asked where to look for broadcasts, you need to select “Satellite” and click “Next”.

  4. At this step, it becomes possible to select the required satellite for its subsequent scanning. Other settings related to this satellite are also available on this page. After selecting it, click “Next”.

  5. When choosing additional settings, a window with various parameters will appear, displaying values related to the quality of the received signal, as well as its level. In the image below it is noticeable that the signal level is at maximum value. To add a new satellite, there is a corresponding button located at the top of the window. After closing this menu and clicking “Next”, you need to set the search conditions.

  6. If you do not have a CAM module and want to find free broadcasts, then check the box next to the “Skip encrypted channels” line. After installing the necessary data, click on “Run”.

  7. Next, the search for broadcasts will begin. During the search, you can see the number of TV and radio channels that were found. If you stop the search prematurely, the previously found channels will still be saved.

  8. After the scanning is completed, you can start watching satellite TV. If you go to the TV settings in section “Channels”, then you can see many more options. For example, you can sort channels, edit a transponder, configure a satellite, etc.

To switch between different television signal sources, be it satellite TV or cable, HDMI signal or another, press the INPUT button on the remote control and select the required one.

Connection via receiver

How to properly connect a satellite antenna to the device? In modern television receivers, you can connect the cable to the TV through the receiver using the following connectors.

Thus, connecting satellite equipment to a television receiver is not a difficult matter. Main - right choice antenna directivity, connecting equipment with cables and setting up television reception. You can learn about setting up the receiver yourself by watching this video.
